This colander is a great size for small amounts of produce or a pound of ground beef. It's cute enough to leave on the counter. I liked mine so much, that I bought three more as Easter baskets for my grown kids. The wives loved the gift.The product arrived as the photos show but ultimately I wasn’t impressed with the craftsmanship and how the handles were welded on or the quality of the cutouts so I returned it even though the price point is very affordableSize perfect for one who only cooks for one or two people. Use it to wash my salad ingredients as well as breakfast berries sturdy and easy to clean. Nothing flakes off a coating that didn’t hold up. It is clean as well as decorative. Have a couple is small oranges, green grapes and a banana out on counter now. Love the look ; love the utilityI was very pleasantly surprised at how cute this colander is - the pictures don't do it justice! It is a very shiny silver color with a cute berry print as the cut-out. It also has a nice base on it to stand up straight. It is so cute that I didn't want to put it away, but I really didn't have room for it on the counter :( I was surprised at the size as I was actually expecting something a little smaller. We found a Martha Steward brand colander at Macy's for my mother-in-law and I think hers was slightly smaller. But this is a great size. I will be using it daily for washing berries for breakfast. It would also drain a small serving of pasta. [Without wanting to be offensive, the person who rated this as a "child's toy" may wish to consider healthy portion sizes for 1-2 adults who are not overweight. This is plenty big. Nuff said.] I also used this to drain a custard for ice-cream as I didn't have a medium sized mesh and it worked very well.For fruit, it drains a bit slow and not as much water gets out as I'd like, however.Update: I kept turning to my Oxo fine mesh strainer to rinse things, as this colander doesn't get enough water out and you have to dry everything afterwards. The colander is now being used to store onions and garlic in the pantry. I would not buy it again as a colander.Did just fine in the dishwasher. Nice size too.Works great. Perfect size for washing a small to medium box of berries or rinsing a can of veggies. It is comfortable to hold by one or both handles. I use it every day and I wash it in the dishwasher. Has not started to rust after 3.5 years of every day use! My husband loves to use it too and I have received several complements on how cute it looks. Purchased it as a present last month as well and my friend loves it.
