It is a late-maturing apple, with ripeness in New Jersey typically starting in mid-November, often coinciding with the first snowfall.

✅ Originating in Benton County, Arkansas, in 1870, the Arkansas Black apple is medium to large in size with a round shape and deep red color that darkens to purplish-red or nearly black when fully ripe. Its firm, crisp, yellowish flesh has a distinctive, aromatic flavor that improves with storage. This variety keeps well and is a favorite for those who enjoy long-lasting apples.

✅ The cuttings will be sent wrapped in wet media during dormancy (November-April). From July to October, cuttings will be de-leafed or partially de-leafed to prevent damage due to hot temperatures. I prefer to send out orders on Mondays or Tuesdays to ensure the cuttings do not sit on a shelf over the weekend. Please check your state's local laws regarding plant entry.
